Block Space Agreement(BSA)

A block space agreement (BSA) is the purchase of an agreed-upon capacity or space on an airline or carrier's flight. Block space agreements are purchased by freight forwarders for space on a flight.

The BSA’s has two categories.

  • Soft BSA:  The forwarder can cancel without a financial penalty.
  • Hard BSA: The forwarder is financially responsible for every allocated space whether utilized or not.
